"DESPERATELY SEEKING LOVE" opened at The Pierson Playhouse in Los Angeles, CA., in the summer of 2012. It was critically acclaimed and writer/director Ryan Paul James was called "An American playwright to watch".
The show teamed up veteran actors Bernie Kopell (The Love Boat) and EMMY award winner Mariette Hartley. Other cast members included Richard Horvitz (Summer School), Melissa Disney (As Told by Ginger), Izzy Diaz (LOST) and Katie Zeiner (Sex In The City).
"Desperately Seeking Love" explores the land mine of dating with a unique twist, as six lonely hearts with differing backgrounds, try to find love in quirky and comedic ways; from a radio show to an open mic night. The joy is in watching these characters bring their personalities and vulnerabilities to the surface as they lay their souls bare in their pursuit of happiness.

report as inappropriateThis show was sweet, funny, and insightful. The cast did a wonderful job letting the audience get to know and like their characters. I want to see it again and would recommend it highly!
report as inappropriateThis was a great show - both hilariously funny and heartwarming. The writing, acting, characters, story were all top-notch. I highly recommend seeing this while it's at the lovely Theatre Palisades before it gets 'big'!
report as inappropriateI enjoyed seeing Bernie Kopell on stage at Theater Palisades last night. The play was fun and entertaining.
report as inappropriateWell cast and very entertaining. Intimate theatre; no bad seats. Funny and well paced, the time went by very quickly. I would definitely recommend this play!
report as inappropriateThe theater is a small venue, very intimate. The play is delightful - especially with Mariette Hartley! Play is definitely 'contemporary' but has something for all adults. Melanie Disney is quite entertaining.
report as inappropriateMy friends and I had such a great time. Top notch acting and writing. I so hope to go back and see it if it gets picked up by another theatre.
report as inappropriateIt was a little disjointed in the beginning but came together nicely at the end. Characters were very likable after you got to "know" them.
